If you don't know, Borderlands was recovered from becoming virtually abandonware during the downfall of Gamespy, by gaining Steamworks multiplayer support, and getting a tool that allowed you to use your CD key from your retail box to get a free Steam copy and bypass SecuROM.
This game has gotten almost the same good rep by the gaming community, and recieved an incredible amount of awards, so it deserves the same treatment. Hell, most games do. I never got to try the game in it's hayday after buying the Limited Collector's Edition (worth it, but it's a shame it's so dead online).
It should be revived this way, and put back up for sale. However, I assume the reason why it was removed, is due to the Bethesda acquisition and Splash Damage no longer working with id Software. If that's not the case, this would be a great way to bring this game back.
Also, 60fps animation update to go along with that. It's 2015.

This was a good game and I liked it. You know how hard it is to find a game you like?
The Demo was fun too.

I second this i found my CD Copy and decided to google the game to see whats up with it and noticed steam had it.. (Few years to late i see but) i would even buy a copy or two so would loads and loads of people on the forums i see some saying they would buy 20 copies just to bring the game back....
I would defiantly play the hell outta this if it came back.
(even for a 2007 game it blows every single online game in my library outta the water hands down... its not just about graphics people.)

Its not impossible. With enough willing participants, we could come up with the 'think tank' necessary to plan a Reload or if nothing else, a much needed boost in clients. There are many methods to meet those goals. It will take a good amount of research planning and people with different skills. First things first, communicate with all parties already struggling to keep it alive.

Look at Moddb there is lots of people there who have skills in everything from modeling to animating on large scale projects.... someones making a complete revmap of a game straight down to the code for a game even with a team...
someones just gotta get a group together for this game.

This really isnt about modding. Its more about exposing the game, advertising the cause and giving it new life. By new life I mean new players. The tricks in this scheme really involve a bit of exposure and direction. Exposure of our movement, direction of sales/ downloads. Whatever it takes. A new clan, a special event to plan maybe. There are lots of tricks that cost no more than time itself. The problem is participation and so is the solution.

I unfortunately never got to experience this game. Hopefully some day there's some sort of reboot/remaster, maybe even a remake of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

Point is with steam servers this could be brought back with many more people (idk how many others play using 3rd party server things since gamespy shut down)

I'm not sure how you are reasoning.
I agree if the game was brought back to Steam probably more people would buy/play it.
But you do realize that everyone that made a Steam purchase of this game, still got the game in their library and are able to play it?
And to my knowledge there was never any "steam servers", I've only ever played and only remember user hosted servers, and I've played this game since it came out. (And there are still lots of servers btw, even custom community is still active).
