I just beat it on medium difficulty tonight, the fight is actually pretty easily doable. I was leaving the arena aswell. Spam a few rockets at him, some nades, done most of the job.

I just beat him on medium difficulty. Use the tesla or flamethrower to keep the undead at bay and the fg42 to kill the shooters on map border. use the venom or the panzerfaust on Heinreich when able. took like 3 or 4 mins I want to say. Died a few times. mostly because I wasn't expecting the the soldiers on the map border.

good thing to remember is, that once his 3 guards are dead, he will perform resurrection for some 5 seconds - good for dynamite and shooting onlookers
did it on 4th difficulty
at start, when he is slow, soften him up with a dynamite, which should kill his followers and force him into resurrecting stance - giving you 5 seconds for another well placed dynamite
then play with whatever gun you want, keep some 10m distance and no souls should spawn. Venom, panzerfaust, shotgun, MG42 and somewhat teslagun are useful against him
Venom is the fastest, giving you the least opportunity to take damage
once onlookers show up, kill his guards with flamethrower to force him into resurrecting, giving you time to kill onlookers with Snooper rifle

Just beat it on Realism. It is pretty easy - start shooting with the Panzerfaust. When depleted, you should be on the arena already. Use the flametrouer to remove the undead. Shoot with the venom gun. The soldiers will appear. Leave them and use bandages. SHoot with venom again. Use the flaetrouer for the new undead. Bandages again. Venom and flametrouer and you should be ready. Just remmeber to stay in the arena to avoid the annoying ghosts.

Personally I am really digging the new boss fight. It has some elements of tacticts to it, especially on harder difficulties but I could be a little biased since I am developer.

How did you even get him to spam ghosts, I was on the other side of circle and no ghost spawned.

He automatially does it if you go too far away from him and he can't see or get to you, the ghosts fly through walls, kill you, and force you to be right next to him or else he spams ghosts.
