I watched a trailer that seemed to include the setup, the twist, and the emotional resolution. At that point I felt as if I had already attended. Anyone else stopping trailers halfway through once they decide they are interested? No specific plot spoilers please.

I stop as soon as I know I want to watch it. Sometimes that is before the trailer starts.

I would rather know what kind of film I am getting. A mysterious trailer can sell a completely different mood from the actual film.

Mood is fine. Showing the payoff to a scene that clearly took half the film to set up is what annoys me.

The comedy version is putting every good joke in the trailer. Then the pauses in the film feel like you are waiting for familiar lines.

Copper has a point about mood. I want a sample, not the full sequence of events. That is probably the distinction I was trying to make.
