Is this game just full of veteran players in tanks?

Hey guys,

I just bought the game during the steam sale, and every time I play, it's the same veteran players just camping tanks or armored vehicles and going from point to point, gunning people down, and never getting out. Every match so far seems to be the same.

To combat them, I started playing engineer, but there isn't enough firepower to take out a tank by myself, and bots don't seem to help take them down. If I manage to destroy them, they just spawn in a new vehicle and it starts all over again. It's making the game seem really dull and not worth playing.

If I encounter them out of the tank/vehicle they're easy pickings, no problem there. Are they just people who like to play tank games and aren't very good at FPS? BF6 feels more balanced towards the soldier experience, but it seems the other way around in BF2042.

This is what I'm seeing while playing on Australian portal servers. Is this just an Australian player thing or is it the same type of experience everywhere? Is there a game mode where the number of vehicles are limited or people put more of an emphasis on the soldier side of the game?

I wanted to give BF6 a break, but BF2042 kinda makes me want to go back.

never getting out
Why on earth would someone get out of a tank?

Get yourself some wings and go ham with the tank destroyers or choppers geared around anti tank. Stealth choppers are nice because you can enter stealth mode and won’t get locked on. Regular jets are okay, the bomber is the best with the upgraded bombs, and the warthog/frogfoot are out of the box certified to grind a tank to mince.

They are just lazy noobs praying to god to not see a tor on the enemy team every match. Because tor have only one objective and it is 'do not let enemy team use any vehicle and ignore the infantry'

these vehicle-only players and the "I wish my team would coordinate taking them out with me" dynamic has always existed in battlefield games. It probably wouldn't feel so oppressive if you had full games of real players on your team and you weren't against tank drivers who already have a ton of hours playing in tanks exclusively. vehicles are generally better (for the driver/pilot) but complimented by the maps and sizes in 2042 comparatively to 6.

If you're solo you really need to pick your battles with tanks and position yourself for weak spot launcher hits or go assault and glide + C4 them. I'm not Australian though so I can't speak on your server experience.

Yeah, it's usually bad players who want to grind levels and KDR. Get them out of the tank and they fall over.

They tend to get really upset when you destroy their vehicle. I blew up a notorious vehicle-camper once, ruining his 0 death score for the match, then spent the rest of the match hunting me. After about 10 minutes, he finally killed me (in his tank) then got out, teabagged me, then got back in the tank. Sad insecure little men, lol.

There was one player (that I haven't seen since the BF6 launch), Ish something. He wouldn't push too far, seek coverage from missiles. Was a real bitch to play against, but a huge advantage when on your team. At least he wasn't a douche to teabag after a kill.

I wouldn't call him cheating, but it was more of a strategic play.

Thats what I miss about Bf3, and Bf4, the forced cqb infantry maps: Metro, and Locker. What I wouldn’t give for those to be ported onto Bf 2042 and servers that just rotate those 2 can u imagine metro/locker rotation

BF6 exists. Everyone in 2042 is most likely a vet or a noob. But also vehicle play is part of BF ...

Battlefield games are typically geared towards heavy vehicular combat. If you are experienced with the game then there are TONS of ways that you could figure out how to solo ambush a vehicle and kill them by yourself. But also, one of the main reasons to play Battlefield is for your squad, so you can also just have them spawn in on you and they can all help you to destroy stuff.

The reason BF6 feels so different is because BF6 is the least Battlefield-like game in the entire franchise, and instead the game plays like it’s closer to being a CoD title.
