Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce a new way of aiming with a mouse that completely breaks away from old default settings. Instead of just copying what pros used years ago on different formats, this approach uses a modern, first-principles method. It is entirely designed around human vision, raw hand-eye coordination, and how modern 3D engines warp the screen.

The core issue with traditional setups (like a 1.78/1.33 coefficient with 1.0 vertical sensitivity) at a high FOV is that they force your brain to lie to your hands. Because high FOV stretches the image horizontally, moving your crosshair a physical inch vertically requires a massive, tensed arm movement compared to moving it horizontally. Your hand is constantly fighting the engine’s lens compression.

By utilizing a 0.00 Monitor Distance Coefficient (locking pixel precision to the exact center of the screen) and mathematically increasing the Vertical Sensitivity Multiplier by exactly 0.006 per FOV step, we completely flatten the lens distortion for your muscle memory.

### Solving the Engine's "Invisible Zoom Bug"
A hidden flaw in the Call of Duty engine is that the exakt dasselbe visier (the exact same optic) on two different weapons—even within the same class—has a slightly different zoom factor due to the weapon model's unique 3D camera offsets.

If a weapon's zoom varies, the game automatically slows down your mouse in the background by the perfect fractional percentage. The pixel distance on your screen remains identical on every single gun.

### Ultrawide Monitor Compatibility (21:9)
Through Hor+ scaling, the vertical height and center pixel compression on a 21:9 ultrawide remain identical to a 16:9 monitor (the engine just renders extra peripheral vision on the far left and right edges). Because the 0.00 Coefficient completely ignores the outer margins and anchors your mouse at the dead center, this scaling table works with the exact same 1:1 precision on ultrawide setups.

I play on a 21:9 screen and setting the monitor coefficient to 0 definitely helps

you also need to adjust your vertical sens to your ingame FoV setting + transition time to gradual

yeah i thought so too in the first place.. but i was hitting a wall with that classic approach and had a hart time tracking those aim assisted controller movement demons..

remember the classics are based mostly on a 25+ year old Counterstrike engine with a fixed FoV

I want to know the math behind how you got the 0.006 per point of FoV above 100 at 0 monitor coefficient.

Wondering if i can apply this to other games that use monitor coefficients, like Battlefield, for example.

it also works on battlefield.. the basics are the same.. only the settings names differ..
monitor distance coefficent = universal soldier aiming

its calculated by aspect ratio of your display (16:9) / the aspect ratio of your FoV

for example 16:9 = 1.777777

FoV: horizontal 118 vertrikal 86.22 (ingame value is roundet) = 1.368....

1.7778 / 1.368... = 1.298982
