Warzone is a BAD long term f2p game and NEEDS to be a STAND ALONE TITLE!!

Warzone Needs to Be Its Own Game!!!

In my opinion, Warzone isn’t a sustainable long-term F2P model, and the biggest issue is that it needs to become a standalone game. Warzone 1 worked so well because the core experience stayed consistent for roughly three years. There were minimal movement changes, and the game still felt like Warzone while receiving new maps, weapons, and content.

I like integrations, but completely changing Warzone every year is where things go wrong. We went from the modern era to Vanguard’s WWII setting, and now toward BO7’s futuristic direction. At that point, it feels less like Warzone evolving and more like the game being reset.

We’ve seen this with Warzone 1, 2, and 3. Warzone 2 introduced plenty of problems, while Warzone 3, in my opinion, came closest to a near-perfect version of Warzone. Instead of building on that foundation, we keep starting over.

Every major integration brings new bugs, movement changes, map issues, weapon imbalances, and TTK problems. We spend months fixing them, finally reach a good state, and then reset everything again.

Integration → problems → fixes → good Warzone → repeat.

Warzone still pulls big numbers, but the hype clearly isn’t what it used to be. After Warzone 4, I think there should be no more major integrations. Add new weapons, maps, and mechanics when they fit, but stop rebuilding the entire game around each new CoD.

Warzone needs to become its own long-term game, not a yearly extension of Call of Duty.

I wish, but also I think by this point it missed the boat to do that (not that they would have ever considered it really). If they put one out today I doubt I would buy it, just don't trust them at all anymore and not as into WZ as I used to be.

Yeah every integration we take 10 steps back spend 4-5 seasons trying to fix the issues AGAIN. Then it’s finallly in a good state and boom new title and new integration.

Saw this on the other subreddit...

JGOD made a great video on this, you're both correct, but it will never happen because of Acti greed and the money printing machine that is the annual release cycle.

Because they make more money creating a new game and integrating it to warzone. Rinse and repeat.

They make millions with the battle pass, black cell, paid event content as well as bundles in the store.

New JGod opinion just dropped. Time to integrate it into our personalities.

In all seriousness, it’s a good opinion and I cannot think of a single player sweat or casual that would disagree. But we’re too far gone. This winter will be the 2rd and likely final wipe of the game if something doesn’t change to repair the damage the previous wipe did. But even so the warzone model isn’t built for the long term in the first place. Imagine if we had never reset everything. There would be like 500-600 different guns, an unthinkable amount of operator skins, a dozen maps, thousands of attachments. Let’s say this mw4 integration is a clean slate and the next game doesn’t fully integrate. What’s season 7 going to look like? Will they bring in new weapons or maps or modes? What happens if they don’t and people get bored like they did when we kept Urzikstan 6 extra months before verdansk?

I’m totally on board with warzone being its own game completely disconnected from multiplayer, but acting like it’s a simple thing to do after years of what we’ve already gotten used to is silly. It’s going to take a complete redesign of the formula and imo they’re just not up to the task and the player base is not cohesive enough to all agree on how it should be done.

Counterpoint:

Would it be profitable for Activision/Microslop to keep another set of devs to handle Warzone?

Or would they rather keep doing what they are doing right now and cut costs in every single corner they can.

They could still do this though? I never play multiplayer but have bought BP, black cell & skins etc. in the past
