I've been playing CoD: Mobile version for a pretty long time, and now Its the first time I am buying a CoD game, in this steam franchise sale. So I wanted to ask for the best pick for me. I am mostly, or almost entirely interested in the multiplayer, not in campaign or zombies. Just want the best, competitive multiplayer game out there, with iconic CoD maps and gunplay.

At first I thought of straight up buying the latest one BO7, but it's reviews on steam don't tell me the right story.

So now I am confused between Modern Warfare 2023, BO6, BO7, BO Cold war and Modern Warfare II (2022).

Please suggest the right one among these, or any other I may be missing.

Don't you think it's a bit older right now to start? I mean, not just in the gunplay or graphics, but active player base as well, in multiplayer.

If you want the real experience I’d go with one of the earlier cods. Jumping into games with Omni movement wouldn’t be the greatest idea, I think you’d turn off the game after 20 minutes of slide canceling and stuff. Personally I’m a BO and BO2 lover. I grew up on those games. They ported them on ps5 so I’ve been playing those. IMO, best zombies, multiplayer and campaigns ever made are split between those two games. They work together also. If you want another one, modern warfare 2, modern warfare 3. Not the ones that came out in the past 5 years. The REAL cod community stopped buying cods after 2019. At least that’s when I stopped.

And I’m not alone with the opinion of best MP, Zombies, and campaign. Lots of people will back me on those two games.

I'm more into fast paced multiplayers than large scale battles. I've already tried Bf5 and Delta Force in that genre. Maybe I'll buy bf6 soon

Yep, I've also heard BO2 is among the greatest cod games ever released

My bigger concern with older games is not really graphics. Bigger concern is the active player base right now

You really can’t go wrong with it. But if you are trying to have a good campaign story, I’d go BO and BO2 and do them in order. Truly an awesome storyline.

BO2 will always have an active player base, especially with the ports now. When they dropped the ports, bo2 had over 5 million active players. More than bo7, mw3, and whatever new cod there was COMBINED.
