Ryzen 9 8940hx, RTX 5070ti, 16gb of ram and half empty ssd.

On this game I am getting subpar framerates. I will average 120-170 fps in a normal match and as little as 70fps in deathmatch. I think I should have better performance with this kind of setup. CS2 settings are as low as possible, as advised by several different posts, but toggling between different settings has little to no impact on the FPS anyway. I think there's a different problem. Any ideas please?

Is your cores set to performance only or prefer?

I wouldn't know how to check this. Using the Extreme performance scenario in MSI center (it's an MSI laptop)

gaming laptop shenanigans

im sorry. its always ass.

i cant help you more than the same problem everyone has with gaming laptops

power settings are usually the problem.

auto over locking like extreme modes are always ass.

the laptop version of 5070ti is comparable to 5060.

8940hx is a productivity CPU (lots of cores but slow), not a gaming one. when you overclock it, it can be comparable to a 7600 but it's still inside a laptop, so expect thermal issues.

basically, laptops suck ass for gaming. best you can do is play on lower resolution.

Good to know. I'm aware the laptop GPUs are substantially worse than the PC counterparts since gtx became rtx but I'm still expecting at least a stable 240-300 fps on this game with this kind of configuration. Maybe time to try linux.

It’s an in-game setting, my MSI had issues on performance cores only and had a massive boost when set to prefer performance cores

The option is missing entirely, I believe AMD processors don't have performance/efficiency cores as intel ones do
