for example in mirage if you spotted the t on ramp from stairs and he strafe back and doesn't repeek , there is 25 seconds left. In my experience 80% of the time they just run to the other site so do you just run b and hide for plant or maybe run under and try to kill him on rotate, if he does go b then its almost a guaranteed win but if he faked and went A then its also almost a guaranteed lose. where would you play this ?
Would other variables like the utility you have, equipment difference, hp difference, time left, change where you would position yourself if so how ?

theres no catch all strat for this, sometimes you will have info and sometimes you will not. if you have info you operate based on that info if not you just have to gamble. just dont play retake on both sites.

I like gambling to the other site if they know my last known position, or playing near mid so I can rotate to either site quickly.

i don't know why but in my level 10 pugs my CT teammates in the situation you described always just sit still thinking the T is going to come back instead oc just rotating, I've lost so many rounds of it

If you sit still its a decent chance to win the round for free and you still have the chance to win the retake, it is however still a gamble

Yes occasionally you will win, I still think people overdo it. A lot of i tis also map/site/info dependant

If you have no Info about your opponents tendency then just pick a site and stay there. Position yourself in a way that gives you the shortest path to the other site without giving up the current one entirely.

The worst thing to do is being in the middle of nowhere when the bomb is planted and you’ve got to figure out which site it’s at first.

This gives you about 50% chance of being at the right bombsite (timeleft ignored), 100% chance to know which site they’re at once the bomb is planted and plenty of time to properly clear if you have to rotate.

Whether you switch sites or not is entirely up to your read of the opponents and usually there’s no clear path.

i think the thought is like this:

if you rotate:
and he rotates, ur doing a retake but you might be early, depending on the map you probably won't beat him to get into a good spot
if he doesn't rotate and fakes it, you're retaking the site you were on

so you gave yourself a semi-good retake and a bad retake as the options

if you don't rotate:
and he does rotate, you get a rough retake
if he fake rotates and comes back, you could have gotten into a better spot easily, and you have a good ambush

so you gave yourself a bad retake and a good ambush as the two options

this is all time and map dependent though, sometimes you have a good rotation as a ct to beat the T if he rotated

Which site would you rather try to retake post plant vs catch him on the plant?

I’d probably hold A and play for the plant info, especially with only 25 sec left, then rotate based on what you actually hear/see.

If he knows I’m A, I’d expect the fake too lol, so I’d hold a spot where I can hear the plant and react.
