I read more than I post.
I do this with CSGO. Although it’s mainly because CSGO isn’t populated enough in NA for me to main it
I play on EU servers so unless I can play during the day, no one’s on at night for me. Which is when I play CS2
Although I will say, if CSGO had enough of an NA community, I probably wouldn’t touch CS2

Why not play both? I'm sure they're both fun. I only play 1.6 though lol, planning to play CS2 if I ever get a gaming laptop or a PC that can handle games like CS2.

to be honest cs2 is a good looking game and modern but the cheating problem is out of hands. but you can still have fun in comp if you have good tust factor(aka spending money on steam) or just join some community servers with actual community.
Today the only way to play CS2 is faceit but I dont like anything competitive and I prefer queuing comp. most of the time its clean with the occasional smurf or cheater but they dont frustrate me anymore I just take the L and queue for another de\_dust2 game
