For context, i have around 60 hours as medic so I am generally new to the game and medic, and i also have about 55 hours as engineer, and less than 20 in other classes (lowest being 10 hours). Here are some stats for some of my games: \[a more specific question to add on is i find my support score always being low, even though my healing seems good (I don't know if it actually is or not, but sometimes i find myself with more healing than the other medic/s but much less support and would be grateful for any tips or help). First match was even, second match my team was better in terms of skill then theirs's from what i can tell. \[Also this is casual mode\]

Dying less is the biggest thing on medic, casual lobbies NEED to be babysat by medics and engineers. You did good in the first game though

Remember to keep as many people as you can overhealed, especially soldiers and demos

it is genuinely very difficult to draw any conclusions from this given how dynamic different game states can be, but the most important skill when playing med is to Not Die. That’s it. Keeping your head on a swivel and knowing when to pull out are good places to start

See you on rng-et-1.

The important stats for medic don’t show up in the built in scoreboard. What matters is heals per minute, deaths, heal spread, time to build uber, etc.

These stats are meaningless. Record some gameplay and let us see with our eyes what you're doing.

I raise you a classic copypasta. Remove everything Counter-Strike specific and you will have a to-do list.

This \[insert CSGO team or player here\] is fantastic. Just needs to work on communication, aim, map awareness, crosshair placement, movement, pistol aim, awp flicks, grenade spots, smoke spots, pop flashes, positioning, bomb plant positions, retake ability, bunny hopping, spray control and getting a kill.

we don't know how long these matches took so we cant tell what the actual heal rate is

but on like a 20-30 min game, the average casual medic will heal like 3k total because theyre dogshit and just permabeam heavies while ignoring everyone else

if you're outhealing them by like 5-10 times then it's probably because you're crithealing players (this is good, easiest way to have insane impact as a pub medic is to constantly keep your team at 150% hp as much as possible)

btw support score doesnt really mean anything, iirc it was an mvm thing that they later added to casual for some reason, im pretty sure it's just going to be proportional to your heals

Support score is very arbitrary and goes up for things like your medigun reducing the time on fire (game counts this as an extinguish for scoring but not for strange parts), killing a medic with ubercharge, and I swear it went up X amount of points doing ~300 points of healing but the wiki doesn't support that thought.

Also even the best medic in the world with no Teammates that know how to push or shoot can't win the game alone. You can be a big difference in how close they come, but it's a real "take a horse to water" situation. Happy to give more tips if you want, if you DM I think I can give a Steam profile link.

A few things that aren't immediately obvious to newer players is how OP overhealing is. Make sure you're not just saving people from dying, you're also giving people a buff.

Don't just pocket f2p heavies all the time, and don't ignore scouts "because they can just run for a health pack". It's actually more efficient for medic to heal classes with less base health because classes with more base health get more out of the health packs.

People will come up with all sorts of things about which classes you need to heal in whatever order; but really (in pubs) you just want to find who the best players are on your team (Either by watching them play or just checking the scoreboard), and prioritise them for everything.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I've been playing on and off for over 15 years now and this is just what I've learned about playing medic that wasn't obvious to me for years.

Can't really say much here without context as to how long the games went, what maps/game mode it is, and more importantly; what loadout you are running.

Generally speaking healing rate is on average more important then overall healing even if you can get it to a high number; I average sometimes around 30K on PL's maps and about as low as 20K for Koth since it's traditionally shorter. All that should be mattering is you are healing faster and building uber faster then the other team's Medic if they even have one at that point.

If you don't have Crusader's Crosswbow or haven't been using it; use it all the time if you can. Spamming it on teammate's whom had just recently taken damage allows them to heal faster and thus allowing you to overheal them faster as well. Not to mention Crossbow still helps in building uber. Alongside playing with crit heals and combining both I.E: spam Crossbow on teammates when you know they don't have crit heals, you'll notice how much better your healing rate shoots up.

Otherwise just stay out of sightlines you don't need to be in; this'll come with map experience as you play em all and take note of where thing's like decloak spot's for Spy's or flank routes, Sniper sightlines/spots they like to hang out or even occasionally looking up if you hear what sounds like a bomb about to happen.
