The Czech B team ran perma pyro in the current nations cup. Otherwise I can only think of my first team in open ETF2L around 2016-17, Cerberus that came second with pyro however that was pre-Jungle Inferno nerf. I'd only note this team cus nubbi was one it playing pyro and we beat teams divisons above back then. Olgha in prem was known for it around the same time but i dont think he ran it permanently.

The sixes meta is only half “this is optimal”, it’s also half “this are the classes the competitive culture agreed to use”. A lot of teams don’t run a permanent off class because other teams will complain about it and even refuse to play them. Like the sixes comp isn’t even the strongest comp too since having 2 medics would certainly be stronger, it was just agreed upon to only run 1 medic for example.

i mean if you lose against an off meta team that's just the definition of a skill issue, and if they're in the same div you're gonna have to scrim them to know how to fight them. otherwise you could get a round or 2 wiped in the official from not adapting beforehand

A lot of times it doesn’t even have to do with losing or not, a lot of this just revolves around soldier mains hating pyros.

so what do you want offclass teams to do? the only options are A. don't scrim and B. "go play hl"
