Do you think the game would have been sought after if were set in that era instead of the Clone Wars?

I think it’s mostly about being a Star Wars XCOM. What exact period doesn’t matter as much. As long as the story being told is good.

Frostbite supremacy.
the clone wars era is most popular

I don't even care if the story is good. I just wanted more XCOM, and this hit the spot for that.

I think, the Clone Wars hit the 15-45 age range well.
Most of them saw the Prequels in the theater, most of them played Republic Commando, OG Battlefront and possibly (skewing younger) watched Clone Wars. Clone Wars and Rebels had a lot of internet good will.
However. Bit reactor makes enough money to put out a second game, more depth, more mission flexibility, get closer to X-Com 1&2 on a lot of aspects, and I’d play a game from them set in the OT, ST, or any of the Legends timelines.
Disney is a bunch of cowards though and won’t give us a bunch of Mercs fighting for both sides of the Mandalorian Wars or Jedi Civil War.

It works in any era, the game itself proves that.

I guarantee 90% of people didnt know or care, in what era of Star Wars this took place. Especially since the Sequels were so porrly received that almost every new Star Wars media released is set before them

My friends and I call it ZCOM. Think they knew what they were doing with that title lol.

I don't think that would have changed their commercial success either way. Story + Gameplay are what will drive it more than Clone War vs GCW (or even Old Republic era)
Though I bet if it was set in the Disney era it would have done worse

I have no idea what the difference is between the Clone Wars and the Galactic Wars. I thought they were all just part of the same thing, you know, the Star Wars.

The Galactic Civil War is the time period of the Original Trilogy, the very first Star Wars movies that came out in the 70s and 80s. The Clone Wars is the time period of the Prequel Trilogy, the newer Star Wars movies that came out in the 90s and 00s.

Given that it's sought after as it is, if it were set in the much more popular Star Wars era, it would indeed still be sought after.

I like the time period it was set in. We've had enough games that were set somewhere around the GCW. I was really happy being able to destroy some clankers for a change instead of just stormtroopers or perhaps pirates!
