I'm Astral/Ymir or whatever you wanna call me (ignore the reddit username I made it when I was 13). I have been playing destiny 2 since red war and have been interacting with destiny content since D1. In all that time I have never once been able to raid. Mostly cause I was a kid and my mom never wouldve let me raid with strangers. Well I wanna change that, I want to start learning how to do raids all the mechanics etc etc.

If you're interested in teaching a total noob please message me on discord at astral\_entity

If you don't find people here, you can also search r/destinysherpa or r/destinylfg

There's still sherpas looking to fill their runs and they will let you know in their post what is required

Alternatively, there's still clans/discord groups recruiting that are open to new people. Find them on reddit or in the discord LFGs recruiting channels. Mind you the game is winding down so if you are serious about learning raids, easiest will be to get to it ASAP.

Lastly, you could also learn mechanics by watching videos and joining LFG discord runs or ingame party finder. This can be hit or miss, best look for teaching runs and be upfront about being new to raiding. Normal raids(not master or feats) are very powercrept, even Salvation's Edge is still challenging but nowhere near the beast it used to be

I'm gonna be so for real. There's very little you need to begin raiding as a total noob.

1. Be willing to listen, learn and actually do the roles, some roles are boring but they still have to be done so make sure you're willing to do any role

2. Have a comfy build, this is a build where no matter what the game throws at you, you can survive

3. Have a fun team to run with, it's a learning run of a raid so it's not expected to be done in 40 minutes, you will be in the mission for atleast and hour or more depending on raid so you need to actually like the people you're with.

4. Don't worry about meta loadouts for damage, there's 6 of you and if you don't one phase the boss it doesn't matter it just gives you more time to learn the mechanics.

5. Don't be afraid to ask questions either in the encounter or before/ after it, you're learning and asking questions may help you get a deeper understanding

And finally the most important one have fun and enjoy yourself guardian, I hope a good raid team can find and help you out.
