Looking for something new. I already cook and play a bit of chess, but I want something new.
So I’m curious about the opposite. What do you keep doing even though you’re genuinely mediocre at it, and what makes it worth it?

Video and board games. My partner and I rotate between these on our date nights as a shared hobby. Its a lot of fun for us but I absolutely suck at them. Thats fine! The whole point is for us to bond and have fun.

Another one I suck at is working out as a hobby. I love to be active and be outdoors but due to physical ailments I can no longer do certain activities anymore. Finding new ways to be active can be challenging. Fun, but challenging.

lol yep, I’m not good at crochet, but I figured out enough to keep going and that was enough to make the lumpiest, ugliest sweater I’ve ever worn in the most gorgeous yarn colours lol but it is so warm and I love it, I don’t care what it looks like, it’s for me to wear at home

I used to play chess too! But I gave it up after a while because I lost interest, even though I had been completely addicted to it for about six months. When I eventually came back to chess, I wasn't as good as before, but I just kept playing anyway.

As for "what makes it worth it?" – just enjoy it! If you give up on something just because you're mediocre at first, you'll never get good at it.

I once heard a great quote: "If you only do what you can do, you will never be more than you are now.". It seems to me it was from "Kung Fu Panda" lol
