So I was my kid and I were playing with his action figures and was reminded how fun it is . I know people are going to say , no one stopping you from playing with toys but I think there’s a stigma around it after a certain age to still be doing it . I have friends that’s are toy collectors but I think that’s different, just being able to sit and let your imagination take over is somewhat stress reliving

I still do on occasion and I'm in my 20s. Old habits die hard and I'm not trying to kill them either 😂

Because society decided that after a certain age that's not appropriate....I think it's so good for your mental health!! ....I've been a nanny since highschool (40 now) I've never stopped playing with toys bc of my profession, still to go to the playground and many other children's games, and I can see the difference that has had on my mental health compared to every adult around me (I'm the only nanny in my friend group and even family)

Young, the more competent reader I became the less I played with toys. The stories in the books were far more exciting than anything I could ever come up with.

At some point I hit the limit of what imaginative play could do for me and moved on to video games and sports

But some "toys" are still beautiful little works of art worth collecting, as an adult I collect Good Smile Company Nendoroids (anime figures)

Lego is still one of the greatest inventions. After sliced bread and Trader Joe’s Scandinavian Swimmers. And Chocolate Babka

I still collect figures as a full time hobby. Don't really "play" with them in a traditional sense but I love to pose them with one another and kinda just imagine without actually making them interact.

The toys just tend to become more expensive as you become an adult.

Hm... probably 12ish?

As a child I did imaginative play all the time. When my children were little, I found it hard to sustain the mindset of imaginative play and would lose interest after a few minutes. I know it's not that way for everyone, but maybe for some?
