As we know alcohol is socially accepted. People bring it as gifts on multiple occasions but, alcohol is very addictive and can harm people. What would happen if the law makers just said no more alcohol?

This is an american question. In my country it was never illegal. In the US, the same thing as the first time, it would go under ground and create a new, untaxed, black market.

Well we have plenty of evidence of what will happen, people will find ways to get alcohol and people will get rich selling it, there will be violence and gang activity around it etc

Firstly it's never been illegal in my country, secondly it's so easy and potentially dangerous to make your own, it's pointless.

It's really not that dangerous. The infamous whiskey rebellion was nothing but farmers who were making their own.

It was legal in the US until 1868 to distill your own.
The 5th Circuit Court ruled two years ago that the ban is unconstitutional - unfortunately their district only covers Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana. This was a ruling on federal law so the state bans are still in effect

I believe Missouri is the only state that allows any kind of home distilling. It must be distilled for personal or family use, you may not sell it. 100 gallons a year if you are single, 200 gallons in a household with two or more adults.
