i3 12100f
24 gb ram ddr4

I play only on 1080p and as of now, I am not that interested of 1440p. Currently i am thinking about either update the gpu to 6090 xt 16gb or update the cpu to i7 (to be very future proof)

What do you think is better?

9070gre

There are tradeoffs for both, the 12100f is suffering from being a quad core cpu and 1080p will be far more effected by cpu than 1440p or 4k, so this is a good choice especially if upscaling doesn't bother you, on the other hand a gpu upgrade will be a tangible upgrade as well, as gpu upgrades have more immediate effects in gaming for cpu's that use 4 cores or less, but is mostly a games upgrade.

Personally i'd go for the cpu upgrade, don't need to go for something extremely high like a 12900k, a 12600k(or 14600k, if your motherboard supports a bios update to slot it) is probably enough to avoid any cpu bottlenecks in gaming, but neither is a bad choice.

What games you play?

If you are playing only 1080, I think it's better to upgrade CPU first to 14600f/kf. Don't need i7.

Upgrading just the GPU is a good first step, and the 9060XT 16 GB is a good one to get for your use case. What's your budget? Optimally I'd say get an i5-14600KF and a 9070XT for max price to performance gains.

Yes, I also thought that my Rx 6600 although a little old (3,5 years) can still handle games at 60fps on 1080p, if I save enough money I can get something even better than the 9060xt in the future, and by then I wont be bottlenecked by my cpu

I heard that the gre version is not very good and not worth the money I would save from getting a 9070 or 9070xt

Mostly RPGs, souls like and shooters, currently playing Pragmata and was thinking about Crimson desert to be next

Thats a tough question, in my country a 9060xt 16gb is $700, the 9070 almost $1000, and I was thinking that they are a little overpriced for what I was willing to pay for them. Of course theres a chance that prices go even more crazy next year and the 9060 reaches $1000 here.

I would say my budget is somewhere close to $600, but would the 9060xt 16gb last at least 4 years on 1440p and 6 years on 1080p? If so I think it can be worth it

Considering these games I think upgrading the CPU first is a better idea. RX 6600 is plenty powerful for either, but the CPU is a bit lacking. Get an i5 from the same generation that has 6 cores.

Crimson desert asks for a 6700xt for recommended gpu though, you'll probably need to play on medium quality or lower

This is mostly referring to the us and some eu markets, where the 9070 gre is around 500-530$ usd and a cheaper 9070 is around 600-650, the performance gains for a 9070 are very noticable plus it has 4 more gb of vram, making the 9070 a 4k capable card.

However in 1080p and to a extent 1440p the 9070 gre is a great card, just priced badly in the us in comparison to the 9070.

With the current prices of 9060 xt 16gb's in the us the 9070 gre is arguably a better buy at 1440p and unquestionably a better buy at 1080p for most people.

What about your motherboard, if it's not H chipset it will better to get 14600f or 14600kf if prices are close.

And 9070 gre is not actually bad in performance, it just was a little overpriced. So check the prices, and if it’s not too close to the 9070, go ahead and get it.

Also what are Nvidia GPU prices where you live, if AMD ones are so high?

It is h chipset, h610m, I did a very budget setup few years ago

Difference between 9060 to gre is $150, from gre to 9070 asrock another $150, nvidia gpus are even worse, 5060ti is close to $850
