Is it too much too say maybe I'm just not meant to play Battlefield 6 anymore? Are you all having these experiences with the game?
previewThis isn't a complaint post. If you enjoy Battlefield 6 I don't want to take away what you enjoy or get it nerfed? But playing that new Carrier mode kind of killed my desire to keep playing this game and exacerbates some of the pain points I'm having with the franchise?

I do think carrier is a fun game mode. The "plant the bomb" on the carrier part actually creates a cool twist to the normal conquest mode. If your team is getting stomped, it's possible to turn the tides with a well coordinated strike team. I also like the variety on the map. You've got forests, towns, a hotel, etc. Like there's always something or some place you can play in that feels different then the rest of the map.
But that game mode feels like a personification of the pain points I'm having with the franchise:
* Not enough random vehicles to get around. I often found myself just huffin' it to an objective b/c i'd spawn in near an objective and just couldn't find anything to drive to get there. I don't need a tank. Honestly a motorcycle or ATV would be perfect for me.
* Bad spawns I had a bunch of bad spawns throughout the game mode. Sometimes the game would put me on a boat or helicopter that had just exploded so i'm like falling or under the water in the middle of nowhere as I come in. I'd then die immediately because an enemy was there. I've also been spawned into the same areas over and over where an enemy is waiting so it's basically a free kill. This was made worse with the folks capable of spawn camping the carrier. Like i'd spawn in and get sniped . I used to play a LOT of Destiny 2 PvP and despite it's issues, the one thing I could count on was predictable spawns. You always knew where people were spawning when certain objectives were held so you weren't constantly feeling like you were getting jumped.
* Enemy spawn camping Having the enemy team constantly spawn camping your carrier, blowing up vehicles, and sniping you as soon as you spawn feels extremely frustrating. The opposite problem happens in breakthrough when you have enemies sitting in their safe zone with a tank "sniping" people?. It feels like they took everything we hate about that and flipped it so it's everything we hate about no "safe zones". Maybe it was the matchmaker too b/c it didn't feel like my team ever had people that were doing this to the enemy team? It always felt like I was in matches where there were ace pilots and sabatouers that knew what they were doing.
* Gun Inconsistency I also can't pin down what gun to use in Conquest? I like Snipers and DMR's. I get why Snipers needed nerfs and what not but it feels really bad to get mapped by an SMG or an Assault Rifle when i'm holding a DMR or Sniper. I don't expect free headshots but I got sniped by an LMG on C point from the adjacent cliff side (where the cliff side w/ the zipline is). Feels bad/inconsistent. I legit just run the BROD and hope for the best.
* Uselessness of Recon in full scale game modes With all the vehicles, I feel kind of useless running Recon (favorite class). Can't really snipe as well as some of the folks running LMG's or SMG's and my only "vehicle destruction" tool is C4 which is 50/50 on the vehicles that are on the ground. I found myself running Engineer with an AR and an RPG during the conquest portion while also running Assault with the beacon during the "storm the carrier" part of the mission. I dunno. Medic and Recon feel kind of useless in that game mode. Like you can sneak around as a Recon but at some point they're gonna roll a tank into a zone you're capping and send out a bunch of guys to get you. You're kind of stuck. You have a claymore or C4 but if nobody on your team is actively helping you/backing you up, it feels like you're alone all the time. I did try to use tanks and "lock on" type weapons to take down aircrafts but it felt like they could spam countermeasures so i'd run out of rockets before I could actually do any damage to them and sniping didn't feel super consistent to me so trying to snipe them out of their planes also didn't really work.

NGL just these general inconsistencies have pushed me into trying that new COD beta coming out? Battlefield 6 can be fun but it feels like I gotta suffer with these pain points for a while just to have a few pockets of fun moments in-between.
