There absolutely no active servers in Europe even the Recommended server on the main menu are completely but they have like 40k Likes, is this a bug?

Yeah it’s dead. I think hardcore has a solid following but any other game mode is 90% bots.

It sucks because some of the conquest large maps would be fun as hell but no one plays them.

I believe the roadmap had a portal overhaul scheduled but I can’t remember when. Really sucks they let portal fall from what it was in 2042. It was really cool to play old maps for games I never got to play even if they were incredibly unbalanced.

No. There is absolutely no exp in portal.
Even weapon progression is tied to xp instead of kills.

Player count to start is like 16, but bots only fill twelve. So you need like 3 other people.

Oh adding any sort of bots remove xp.

So there’s no point in even trying to start servers on portal.

It's dead with Crossplay off sadly. Otherwise there are hardcore servers. All other cool creations are born dead sadly

You're joking right? Portal gives xp, weapon progression is just like normal as well.
Are you thinking of "custom" portal lobbies?
Because verified with tweaks works just like normal

When you search make sure you put 'any' slots available or you won't see much

There’s always 5 or 6 1 shot 1 kill hardcore servers that look like europe and 1 US one that are always full.

You’re going into settings and changing available players to ANY instead of PARTY right? And sort by player count.

Just make sure you use the server browser and not the main menu modes

Portal > Filters > Leave name empty and set Free slots to Any. Then sort by player count and hit refresh.

Also, crossplay must be enabled.

Only the first weeks after release Portal was a bliss… then it got patched to 💀
