Heyo, just bought the game yesterday and decided that i wanna play Support. Now i need some weapon recommendations.

I played fps games in the past a tiny bit and i know i am not build like a close-quarters Jackrabbit.

I like gunfights that start somewhere around 30-40m and end when i cant hit the enemy no more.

Also i like the idea of being able to deny areas basically gain area control.

From what i could gather online this seems to be more of an LMG based thing (maybe DMR?).

I played around with LMG's and so far my favourite would be the "KTS100 MK8". I was able to successfully do all the above mentioned stuff with it.

Is there maybe a weapon that can so this aswell, that i might have overlooked or have yet to unlock?

Also how to Augment LMG's, especially the KTS100 MK8?

Thank you very much for reading thus far, have a great day. <3

I play the Kord on support. It's strong at all ranges. Probably one of the best guns in the game.

i think you mean the rpkm, i tried it but it felt like the ttk at higher ranges 50-60+ meters didnt feel good enough, as i died quite a few times in such gunfights

i have yet to unlock this weapon, i will certainly try it out once i got it. It seems to be quite a Meta Weapon as i die to it decently often

It’s a shitty support player who can’t stand getting on objectives.

Support gets a big advantage using LMGs, and they fall into three groups.

Sustained fire automatic weapons. The KTS and rhe starting LMG are good examples. Moderate damage and large magazine size, good over a wide variety of ranges.

Suppression fire machine guns. The m240, m60, m250. Large magazines and good long range.

Infantry Assault weapons. The DRS and RPK types, essentially heavy versions of Assault rifles. These have smaller magazines but better close range.

They are all good, with different ideal ranges and uses.

Now that you say that, i tried to make certain LMG's fit into a playstyle that they werent intended for.

I will try out your mentioned weapons for their intended purpose.

Both kts and rpkm fit what you look for.

One thing to know: certain guns will be mid or even bad until you level it to level 30-38 and unlock synthetic ammo for it.

This is the case for both the kts and rpkm, since they have low dps they dont really become competitive until you unlock the headshot ammo.

One AR that might fit what you need that doesnt take ages to level is the sor-556 which unlocks the hs ammo at like level 20 something. Very slow ttk slow fire rate but complete lazer and easy to use. Becomes a mid range king with hs ammo.

Other guns like drs are insanely good, but just trying the base version of the gun its not going to feel good, you need some recoil control attachments first.

M250 is really good for range aswell. No damage drop off, garanteed 4 hit kill 0-75m range. Starts w a good scope and good supressor and doesnt need hs ammo, rather use pen ammo
