I'm now doing the pump shotgun and I seem to whiff most shots. It's super embarrassing.

I'm using the buck 00 shot with a green laser, speed reloader, flashlight that improves hipfire, and the handstop for faster ads.

As we all know hipfiring shotties does not work like in other FPS games. So I try to aim down sight but I either over or under aim and do 37 damage or something like that.

It's so bad. Shotties are supposed to be cheese and I suck with them.

I do all my shotgun stuff on Hegental in Conquest. Just keep moving with the blob of infantry and fire away. Wait on the other side of doors or in corners for flankers.

Play assault and throw a beacon down so you can respawn nearby quickly

I run the shotty on Iberian and Cairo Escalation while gunslinging an AR.

I haven't tried it on Hagental yet.

Close quarters is my best advice and as someone else said Assault is a good option

Casual breakthrough? I think you get less XP from bots overall, but of course you can kill tons of bots so it often works out. Some of the slug builds are good as you can push the range a little. The "problem" with shotguns is there are so many really strong SMG and carbines out there. I wouldn't take a shotgun into a "live" server really. You're going to get eaten up by SCW10s and the Brod just outside of shotgun range.

Grind the fuck out of Casual Breakthrough on Hagental with them. Either play as recon and make good use of the C4 to knock down walls and Claymores in the doorways or play as assault and drop the spawn becon near the B objective and storm it from the back blasting everyone.

Play conquest as support with a friend on New Sobek City with the mini barricade gadget. Go to the tall building with the zip line elevators near “D”. Put the mini barricade up behind you after you go up and drop an ammo bag, and have your friend do the same on the opposite side. You can hipfire people as they come up the zip line and get stopped by the barricade, or if they do get over, the hallways are perfect shotgun hunting grounds. People will get pissed and keep coming back to try to get you and it becomes defending against waves. Watch out for people landing on the roof above and snipers from other buildings

I'd suggest trying to hipfire more. Yes it's not perfectly accurate, but the green laser + flashlight gets it close enough that you'll rarely be missing kill shots in its optimal range.

If you still want to ADS, I had the most success with the 1x sights. I found that even the small amount of zoom from iron sights was messing up my close range twitch aiming a bit. The exception would be maybe a 2x if you're running slugs and find yourself poking at distance.

I'm actually better firing from the hip with shotguns, or very quickly ads just never try to hold it. Shotguns get crazy movement penalties so if you can try to keep it in mind to stop briefly before hipfiring it may help you land shots, coming from someone who's also usually crappy with them lol

The DB-12 is a very strange weapon that kicks like a mule in recoil and kicks like a fish on anything that isn't extreme CQB.

I changed it to slugs just to hit people properly on anything less than close range while flanking them with a silencer attached to it.

Taking out targets at long range with it is just 👌, but it is mostly something to be done out of spite to make snipers and campers feel bad when they see they have been taken down by the worst weapon in the game
