Update on Proximity Chat from todays Blog Post

\\Proximity Chat\\

Proximity Chat opens up new ways to communicate with players around you during a match. Who you hear will depend on where they are in relation to you, with voices positioned directionally and affected by the environment around you. Walls can obstruct voices, indoor spaces can change how they sound, and vehicles are also accounted for as part of the experience.

You’ll be able to identify players speaking through Proximity Chat and have access to options to mute or report players when needed. Solo players and parties will also default to Game voice chat so they can take advantage of these interactions.

To give you more control over this experience, we've also added the following options:

\* Below the Commo Rose, you can now quickly swap channels and globally turn Proximity Chat on or off.

\* Bringing up the scoreboard in Battle Royale will show a list of recent Proximity Chat users you have heard. From there, you can easily mute, report, or block players by selecting their name via the EA Connect popup.

\* A maximum of four players can be heard simultaneously. A UI message will alert you when this limit is reached, and other speakers will be squelched until a channel becomes free.

We are excited to bring Proximity Chat to Battlefield Battle Royale, but there is a lot we need to learn from our players, as this is a feature that needs real-world testing to tune its performance. We are looking to gather feedback directly from players as we evaluate audio range, clarity, moderation tools, and the overall impact the feature has on gameplay before expanding it further. During this testing, we may need to switch it on and off to apply fixes and improvements. Once you’ve had a chance to try it, we want to hear what works, what doesn’t, and how it changes the way you communicate on the battlefield.

Tell us when it launches on Battlefield. No one gives a fuck about Redslop.

They are stalling this feature so much, we got games like Wardogs, not a AAA studio that has this sorted before the game is even in open beta but its taking dice over a year and they still wont confirm it's coming to the main game?

All I want in terms of voice chat, is for them to stop re-enabling voice chat after every single update. I have voice chat disabled for a reason, I don't need them turning it back on constantly

It's detailing how it will work. It just happens to be launching in a mode you don't like first. This is still good information for BF6 players to know about before it eventually hits multiplayer.

They've confirmed numerous times that it's coming to Multiplayer eventually.

They are using BR to test it first.

Yeah kind of defeats the purpose of letting the feature test itself in the wild....like let us decide if 20 people talking at once is too much or not. Why they limiting that before it's even out lol

well since its prox chat, its all going to be at different distances, so it shouldnt really matter how many people are speaking at the same time, cause it should get quieter the further away the other player is

thats the best part

I was thinking. One issue about proxy chat is how overwhelming it can be. But however I would make it so we could control how many people we could hear at once. E.g 8 allies and 16 enemies for example.

Battlebit had this with noncap

It was proximity chat, and all near would hear you. 127 v 127 numbers

Pretty funny at the spawn start where half the time people would yell and scream like a monkey.

If you were in the chopper, you could talk to everyone. People ran radio stations while piloting. If the chopper flew over top you could ask for a ride and they would hear you.

Enemies could hear you too... "Look out bro, I think there are a few other side of the wall" "no, nobody here" "lol lol"

Always funny.

Every single time I load the game it flips my voice chat back on. Whenever I forget to check it after loading I get rewarded with a screaming teenager.
