Hey, I now have around 150h in this game and I can't find my class and especially weapon. Somedays I'm solid with a 2:1 KD, placed in the middle of each round. Then there are somedays like today where I have the feeling to loose every gunfight and barely leave a match with a positive KD.

But most of all my gun analysis paralysis sucks. I always think I'm using the wrong gun. I keep switching guns all the time and can't stick to one (although I know I should).

What's your advice? Do you experience sometihng similar?

What are your gun choices? What do you like to use?

at the moment I mainly play LMGs. But I've tried every weapon class except snipers (AR, smg, carbine and lmg)

I find the EF88 AR to be a really solid choice.

maybe I should add, I use thermal sights on most of the guns I use, as this helps me with visibility. is that a bad habit?

Medic and engineer are my play. Medic is like a mini game to me. Reviving and resupply. Med range LMG and smokes.
Engineer keeping tanks alive. Mini game for me as well. Engineer I'm hunting or protecting.

Weapon on choice for me as of now. My only lvl 50. LTS. Very slow ADS but I like the accuracy and the suppression.

I find I enjoy using most weapons, and the deciding factor is usually my aim and positioning. I would focus on those things.

If you like LMGs I’m all about the M123K. Solid gun for sure.

Hmm.... I also mostly play LMGs, but the thing is, they're generally not very good in super close quarters because of their handling. So in those fights, it's normal to get shredded a lot.

Now, they did just add the canted foregrip to LMGs which gives them really good hipfire. If you're comfortable with hipfire, I'd put one of those on one of the fast LMGs, add a green laser and just hose people without aiming. Mk123 is really good this way in my experience.

If you're not comfortable with hipfire, I'd suggest you practice it and get used to it, you can pull off clutch kills with it.

But some people just never really take to it.

If that's you, I'd take something very middle of the road for handling/damage. I'd suggest assault rifles, maybe the EF88 or B36. They're both all arounders as far as damage/range/recoil etc. If you're an lmg main I think assault rifles are gonna be a natural shift, since they won't have the severe damage drop off that carbines and smgs have, but still handle better than LMGs.

Just use them for a while, don't switch around, and try and evaluate what may or may not be working out. If you're losing a lot with them in close quarters, chances are you may want a gun with a more aggressive rate of fire/higher dps. If you're losing out over longer distances, you might wanna try the AK4D, L85 or even SOR. AK4D can still win at all ranges if you're handy with recoil/bursting.

How you feel about DMRs?

That's why I love them too.

Yeah I'd try a hipfire build if I were you. I used the mk123 with a green laser, canted grip, short barrel, and flashlight the other day and had 0 issues beating people in close quarters. It's still civil enough to ADS and reach to reasonable LMG range. (Keep in mind, that build uses all 100 points and requires iron sights. Drop the flashlight if you really need an optic)

Using an LMG as recon means you've got a slow ads, which is even more problematic when you don't like hipfire
