Stop crying about the little bird

fuerza31 · 2 Sep 2026 at 22:15 · permalink

TL;DR: I’m not saying the Little Bird is perfectly balanced. The rocket pods are overtuned and should be removed or heavily nerfed. But saying it has “no counters” is ridiculous.

There are plenty of ways to kill or deny it: M136, RPG, TOW, stationary AA, mobile AA, other aircraft, vehicle HMGs, coordinated infantry fire, lock-ons and Recon painting.

And no, a counter doesn’t have to instantly kill the helicopter. If an IGLA forces it to flare, disengage and leave an area, that’s a successful counter. With multiple players coordinating, especially with Recon painting, BF6’s AA can become oppressive enough that a good pilot simply can’t operate in that area.

The bigger issue is that I don’t think DICE should keep blanket-nerfing the entire Little Bird. Raise the skill ceiling instead.

The 7.62 should have much less spread and actually reward precise tracking. Rework or remove the .50 cal. Gut the rocket pods. Keep the grenade launchers as the more accessible, noob-friendly option for people who don’t want to spend hundreds of hours mastering the miniguns.

That’s the important distinction: hard to master doesn’t have to mean inaccessible.

The grenade launchers can give newer pilots a relatively easy way to contribute without making the entire vehicle oppressive. They aren’t particularly problematic against infantry, but I do think their damage against helicopters and ground vehicles needs some adjustment.

That gives you a much healthier setup: grenade launchers for accessibility, precise miniguns for high-level skill expression, and no rocket pods turning the vehicle into an all-purpose farming machine.

A massive skill gap doesn’t automatically mean a massive skill ceiling. You can have an average pilot getting destroyed by an elite pilot while the actual mechanics are still forgiving. I want the elite pilot to be dangerous because they’re genuinely better at aiming, movement, positioning and decision-making — not because spread and forgiving weapons are doing half the work.

And please stop using 100+ kill games as proof that the vehicle is universally broken. Those are extreme games from extremely good pilots, usually under favorable circumstances. They’re not representative of every Little Bird in every lobby.

BF4 is the direction I’d rather see: high skill ceiling, strong vehicle, meaningful counters.

Not:

Make the helicopter weaker → average pilots stop using it → only elite pilots remain → everyone complains about elite pilots → nerf it again.

That cycle doesn’t solve anything.

I don’t want the Little Bird to be useless.

I want it to be hard as fuck to master while still being accessible to newer pilots.

Give casual pilots the grenade launcher. Give experienced pilots the ability to master the miniguns. Remove the brain-dead rocket pod farming.

That would create a much healthier skill gap without simply lowering the vehicle’s power across the board.

Stop crying about crying about the little bird

remove it and everyones enjoyment goes up

What a dumb take accented at the end with your idea of the cycle.

As if the nerfs would prevent bad pilots from piloting. Nr1 beginner pilot stopper is the advanced pilot deleting him in spawn or shortly after take off.

With your twisted logic, the way to nerf a helicopter would be to buff it. Nice paradox.

The Lil Bird is a shitty arcade mechanic that doesn't belong in the game.

fuerza31 · 2 Sep 2026 at 22:24 · permalink

It’s an arcade shooter.

Nah, keep it and rework it.

You clearly don’t understand the point I made. I explicitly mentioned nerfs and how to balance it properly.

Then I will enjoy it whilst it lasts!

We get it, you’re in the little bird for the whole match

jmthefox · 2 Sep 2026 at 22:28 · permalink

why? it makes the game worse for everyone in it

it's overpowered and stupid it has nothing to do with team work remove it is the only reasonable option

fuerza31 · 2 Sep 2026 at 22:30 · permalink

Because “it makes the game worse for everyone” is a terrible argument for removing a vehicle entirely. If it’s overtuned, balance it.

By that logic, we should remove every strong weapon/vehicle that someone finds annoying instead of actually fixing what makes it oppressive. I’m literally arguing to keep the Little Bird and rework it: remove the rocket pods, make the 7.62 accurate and skill-based, and adjust the other weapons.

You’re basically saying “I don’t enjoy fighting it, therefore nobody should get to use it.” That’s not balance, that’s just wanting the thing you dislike removed.

You’re also completely ignoring the people that enjoy flying it.

If they just get rid of the rocket pods it would be so much better. The minigun nerfs are warranted though. The thing may as well be an attack chopper the way it takes out the ATPs and patrol boats.

no im basically saying that every little bird pilot is a chud, who only gets enjoyment by using something overpowered that should be nerfed but is left unreasonable by incompetent devs

so the chuds cry about it because their insanely overpowered vehicle that makes people just quit maps and give up gives them slightly less kills than it usually does

chud shit, massive chud, stop chudding
