BF3 Epicenter you can find Isaac's helmet in the map.
BF2042 Outbreak had a skin.

I believe current drama is not about that. People would be happy with easter egg like a helmet, poster, plasma cutter on a display or even some alien body in the new area 51 map. Heck, even zombie-like halloween event + some gun skins/trinkets/player cards would be considered good.

People don't want flashy skins. Personally I don't care and actually like how DS skin looks like but game marketing told people that skins will stay grounded.
