(I am posting this as a 'this weird thing happened to me' kind of post, not any sort of moan... )

So, yesterday I posted how my xbox controller controls suddenly felt off... One day flowing and snappy, next day treacle and meh...

When I posted yesterday I thought it was an aiming thing... But I played a bunch yesterday and reflected on my experiences, and one thing that stands out is my movement (sliding to cover, hopping through windows, general map traversing) feels sluggish and slow...

it feels like I am muddling my fingers every time I try and go through a window, so get stuck in the frame, all exposed... or when I try to slide to cover, I just don't..

This was never a problem, now it suddenly is...

So what settings do you recommend I try changes to, to get my movement feeling 'flow-y-er' and more 'snappy'?

I typically run default settings, I made sure these all looked set correctly... Everything appears all good and unchanged from the norm...

I played a bunch of games yesterday... And I'm pretty sure nothing changed in-game ... I used both my controllers and the both feel the same, even one I hadn't played with for a while ... Both fee the same...

So it appears I have had a sudden onset 'omg my ability to move smoothly around the map has just... gone' ...

I thought, maybe I just have been playing better people... This happens, typically not for a whole day... And the whole 'stuck in the window' thing is definitely a me-issue

There is nothing, and you’re probably hyper focusing on it now. This is like when CS players become obsessed with resolution and sensitivity when they have a bad day/week and just play distracted the whole time thinking there’s something they can fix.

The only input settings I’ve changed since launch are sensitivity and putting slide/prone on side mouse buttons and the game has felt the same all the time barring any updates to movement.

Everytime I start the game I change the aim sensitivity by .1 up or down you won't notice but I feel like something is defaulting every time I start the game and this seams to reapply my settings do this for aim asst settings too.

Maybe check your FOV settings.

I had the experience that when running it felt slower/sluggish and found that for some reason my FaoV setting has been changed. After fixing that it felt like before.

My logical brain knows it is Definitely this :-) ... In general I try to make sure I don't fall into the trap of perfect settings chasing... But I have fallen off the wagon here :-)

This morning I have tried 75% input is max on left stick, and that feels 'like before'... But I think I'll put all settings back to where they were and buy zero company, which I was gonna buy anyway :-) and play that for a while, solves all the issues :-) )

Zero company is pretty fun, and I say that as someone that is not into SW at all.

Ps : Have you tried turning off unform aiming ? I know, it has nothing to do with movement, but for me it just works better without.

And for the 75% (soldier aim efficiency), I did exactly the same thing with it lately, after aiming felt off after the latest patch. Was better afterwards, it almost feels like they slowed aim curve down with the latest patch. And the general effieciency effects movement.

Are you using low mobility builds suddenly?

It affects movement

I think what youre feeling is netcode. The topgun update has felt slightly worse performance wise for me on Xbox series X while on certain maps and those occasional server hiccups can result in dead slides. Probably what you are experiencing

That update didn't happen on Thursday though...

I had 9 days of top gun all good

Increasing FOV, so it "feels faster", isnt actually making you faster, it just making the game harder.

Beats me, but if you turn on the network settings you will probably notice the correlation between the clunky movement and when the server struggles

These tips are for controller. Like other ppl said increasing fov can appear like ur faster. But what really works is setting your left/right acceleration to zero. This makes it so that you turn instantly with no slowdown. It helps build muscle memory and makes turning feel way more responsive. Also, in your deadzone settings lowering you center deadzone as low as you can before u get stick drift helps a lot. And a secret setting a lot of ppl don’t use is lowering your max input threshold for the left stick to about 70-90(also in deadzone settings) will make movement feel a lot more responsive
