That wasn't a thing back in the 2000s era.

I remember playing Quake Arena, BF Vietnam, 2142, BC2, etc.

Nobody ever enjoyed playing with/ against bots. Not even in my other main games like Wc3, Starcraft BW or whatever.
Playing with bots always meant "you are casual" or "you are noob".

Nothing against people playing casual breakthrough, but if that mode existed back in the days people wouldn't be taking seriously by other gamers.

I personally can only say my ego is to high to play that mode.

Not here to bash, just here to spread the facts and I have nothing against people playing that mode. I just wonder how you guys cope knowing that 90% of real gamers look down?

Bots are, no joke, better than most randoms.

People are old, lazy, want to relax, want fast progression, etc.

It's there for those peeps that aren't too competitive. The tent is bigger now, which is why the experience can sometimes feel watered down.

I’ve got too many actually important things to worry / care about in life than if an anonymous “real gamer” looks down on me

I think some people don't like the sweaty players these days. I used to be one of them, hell mostly still try to do good. But sometimes i need a breather too and just spend a match sniping or trying to do some funny stuff.

I think the slow weapon progression also contributes to this.

I used to unwind with Casual Breakthrough. I now do the same with Breakthrough, but it can be a place to test things. Also, some of the bots are OP these days...

Maybe it's just mass depression due to socioeconomic and geopolitical collapse alongside an aging playerbase?

I mean, tons of people played shooters like the original COD's, Metal of Honor, Time Splitters 2, SOCOM, Ghost Recon, Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2, etc. All of those had "multiplayer bots" modes in them, and were wildly popular for many who were living on dial-up at the time. I'd argue more people played against "bots" back in the 2000's than they do now, dramatically so. Especially with how many more people are online these days.

I see nothing wrong with people enjoying a game of Casual Breakthrough these days. In many ways, it resembles a similar (incredible) formula of mixed bots/humans that made Titanfall 1 and 2 multiplayer such a huge hit. I think beyond just "easier/casual multiplayer," many feel they have more influence on whether a match is won or lost in Casual Breakthrough than they do in regular Breakthrough. Less humans means each one has more sway on the match. Lots of reasons to enjoy CBT (boy that's an unfortunate acronym for Casual Breakthrough lmao).

Because a lot of people don't actually care about what "real gamers" think?

They play for a couple of hours enjoyment occasionally and its not something that defines them

I play it because I’m tired of my entire lobby’s being people trying to play like it’s call of duty, jumping, spinning and sliding around non-stop.

The fact you think gamers looking down pn you matters at all is very telling.

Casual you levrl up weapons faster, get in vehicles more and have more of an impact on a games outcome. You end up having a rivalry each game with a specific player which is fun.

Also the bots positioning isn't great but their aim os pretty good.

Honestly you encounter sweats more in casual in my opinion.
