I got my SVDM to level 40 during the double xp weekend but I don't really feel like it works that well for me. I feel like the space where it can contest snipers without being wrecked by closer range weapons is kinda small, but maybe that's a me problem. I also struggle to reliably three tap people with it at range, feeling like the gun is kinda bouncy and inconsistent.

Any advice is greatly appreciated including builds, many thanks :)

SVK shreds snipers and due to 2 body shots killing is also usable mid range. However fire rate is really slow so make sure to be on target.

Overall I fell DMRs shine best if you use them as a secondary weapon on Assault with a Carbine or SMG as primary. Then you can just play to their strengths rather than trying to make something work that's clearly not inteded

Svk is 2 shots at most ranges. Once you get used to timing it, it's fairly monstrous.

The full auto pistol is recommended as a backup, because you're at a serious disadvantage at close range.

You hit the nail on the head. It's a you problem.

It's easily the best DMR. 8.6 is probably 2nd.

I really like the GRT-CPS, statwise its not the best weapon but its really accurate and stable, I play on PS and my aim is thrash but I can consistently hit my shots with it for most ranges

What sight are you using? I run a x6.00 because it’s the perfect balance. Also run the 20-round mag to give you more rounds to play with. SVDM is king from about 75-150m for me. Anything longer I would just pop shots at to try to get lucky or not engage till I get closer. Shorter I use SCW/NVO/M417.

Just use SVK. imo, SVDM works best at medium-long range like 50m. at this range, TTK wont be abit slower for other automatic weapons since they will miss some shots, and yours is still accurate enough to click as fast as possible.

For scope, default one is the best
You can also try abit lower magnified scope for better visual recoil or more aggressive playstyle. try the 1.75x, 2x if you can see distance target well.

Having used most DMRs, I’d say that the M39 is my preferred one for it’s versatility with the right loading. SVDM second.

GRT I’m trying out now but it doesn’t really do ”it” for me, not sure why.

The DMR is a hard-hitter ans great for longer ranges. M39 and SVDM will do better medium range though.

I mostly go for 3-4x scope, long range bullets, violet laser, silencer and a grip (angled to get quick ADS). Kind of the same for all DMRs. Suits my playstyle with them.

The SVDM is fun to play with aggressively, it’s not as helpless as the SVK at shorter ranges.

It’s pretty much the only gun I use with a variable scope.

I preferred the M39 and SVDM over the SVK for mid range engagements. I also agree that it’s best used as a secondary for assault.

let see what is your issue

\- Your first shoot is accurated but your follow up suck - SVK, the less shot mean easier for good aim player. it has high recoil however due to slow fire rate make you reset and this cause less stress to nerval system.

\- You bad at everything - LMR, let's spray and pray tactic ( GRT is just terrible peashooter, you would rather use KTS )

\- You are good at everything - SVDM ( EBR for some reason has more kick than SVD despite slower TTK)

I did the same thing over the weekend and got my SVDM to 23 which gets you the first optic with real magnification (6.00x)

Found I had the best games using the Spec Ops training path, jammer, drone and proximity detector with the SVDM as primary and the Vz.61 as my secondary weapon. Mid to close range engagements with a focus on aggressive objective capture. Used the prox sensor to highlight the enemies in the map, jammer to disable their mini maps and then work around the objective picking people off before rushing in to cap it.

SVK is the best DMR, not the SVDM.

And if you want something similar that is not as "bouncy" try the EMDR. It has the same 3 tap potential, slightly less rate of fire but less recoil. So its more stable.

Svk with bipod absolutely shreds i use it with long range ammo supressor 10x scope as long as your prone with bipod you can fire off quickly the amount of snipers ive 2 tapped with it. Now running around it with it close range its awful tho but its made for mid to long range do just use it a sniper

I got the LMR27 to level 50 and it might be my favorite mid range weapon in the game. I love how it's a consistent 4 shot kill at all ranges anywhere to the body.
