I installed the game via Steam, and I have many questions:

-Why does my settings don't save on servers?
-How do I reduce graphics to improve performance since my computer can barely run it with the constant explosions, gunfire and bullets in matches
- Is it normal that servers download some files before entering a server in the first time?
-Any recommended servers that don't have bots?

My IGN is cryztalyz87 btw, and my timezone is in SEA, so maybe i can barely join populated servers in peak hours

You can save your config with the console command /writeconfig whatever.cfg and then apply it whenever with the command /exec whatever.cfg

To access the console press the key that's to the left of the number 1

Hi,

you can find some server (with and without bots) here: https://et.splatterladder.eu/?mod=serverlist

Unfortunately almost all servers nowadays have at least some bots online.

If you join a server all required files are downloaded automatically (if the server admin know what he's doing).

You can adjust the graphic setting in the setting menu or in a seperate cfg file.

I usually had an autoexec.cfg with the relevant settings in my etmain directory.

Happy fragging

do yourself favor and install ET:L instead https://www.etlegacy.com/download - if you are on Windows install 32bit
-Why does my settings don't save on servers?
maybe because you switch between different mods (legacy,silent,nitmod,noquarter,...) and they have their own settings. Does this issue also happen when you connect to the same server?
Is it normal that servers download some files before entering a server in the first time?
on steam client r_primitives 2 should help, but use ET:L instead
-Any recommended servers that don't have bots?
https://et.trackbase.net/serverlist/ here its sorted by human layers
btw, and my timezone is in SEA, so maybe i can barely join populated servers in peak hours
ET is still sort of playable at higher ping, so you can join EU servers

What kind of pc do you have, this doesn’t require too much to play on high performance

It was a hand-me-down from a computer shop, so it was quite old, but still handles the job well, here it is

Yeah seems to be more than enough, could it be other background processes on your pc, that might be causing performance issues
