I'm browsing through the PS5 shop and noticed a game called Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and was wondering if I could get a quick rundown of the mechanics/story.

I'm a big history and story-driven game person, as I finally got the chance to buy Ghost of Tsushima(A favorite) and have been playing it nonstop whenever I have the time.

I'm just so conflicted; it's only $6, but I want to make sure I don't find myself getting bored with the gameplay/story

Alternate history: Nazi Germany dominates the world after WWII due to procuring ancient technology with super natural abilities.

Start with New Order, play Old Blood if you want a taste of WWII vibes. New Colossus is the sequel.

I highly recommend getting in playing the new order first and then playing new Colossus after but yes buy both

Have you played the original Wolfenstein 3D? Would be fun to run through if you like early 90’s games.

Never, I'm new to gaming on the PS5, so I've just been buying the games I watched growing up. I'm still getting the hang of the controller as well. I'll take a look at the og Wolfenstein 3D though

You know how Doom guy hates demons? That's the protagonist in this game with Nazis. Rip and tear through the third reich.

If you play New Colossus past the prologue and get access to the main hub area between missions, you can play an in-universe adapted version of Wolfenstein 3D. It’s all the levels from the original game, but you play as a Nazi spy rather than American. But if you buy some newer versions of Wolfenstein 3D, you also get the Spear of Destiny add-on, which is more maps and enemies.

As others have said - get The New Order first, or you'll be kind of lost...

And you'll definitely want The New Colossus on hand by the end...
