Ive been thinking of trying out Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus and im wondering what do people think of it and is it worth getting?. Ive been hearing mix things about it like more cutscenes than gameplay and stuff like that so I want to hear what everyone thinks of it so I can finally decide if I should get a copy. Thank you

I've never seen it but I don't see why not. It might get a little slow at times tho

I don’t know how well it runs on switch but I would recommend playing the games in release order (The New Order, The Old Blood, then The New Colossus)

I have played this on my switch. It was the first FPS on the switch for me. While yes it only ran at 30 Frames per second and in heavy combat areas the frames can dip, it plays decent if you can overlook the toned down textures. You however won’t have access to the DLC nor the combat simulations in this version

The cutscene situation starts off bad but quickly gets balanced out. Before the first mission you have a messed up flashback situation (spoilers BTW). Gameplay wise please make sure any valuable items of personal worth are kept away from the gaming vicinity because the enemy A.I. along with the environment is essentially broken. Stealth is optional and I mean that literally because even if you are hidden the enemy can trip the alarm. However, once you do manage to get a hold of it, power fantasy

You’re hiding in a corner with your silenced pistole and calculating which Nazi bell end to shoot when suddenly some random shotgunner spots you and trips the alarm. He wasn’t even in the location at the time. As for the environment, too many explosions or wrestling supersoldaten would lead to them being no clipped into the wall or you falling into the void

I completed this on a Switch (mostly in handheld mode) and really enjoyed it, I know the port is compromised graphically but given the Switch is my only modern-ish console I had no other way of playing it and wasn't disappointed.

I'd wait for it to go on sale, I picked it up for £5-ish in the UK a couple of months ago.

Because it is assumed that there won't be a Switch port of The New Order (due to budgeting concerns and the age of TNO's id Tech 5 engine), Bethesda released a special Switch trailer that recaps the story of The New Order to help Switch players catch up. (▶Watch on YouTube - video is age restricted) All versions of TNC include a recap video of TNO when you start the campaign.

I played all the games exactly backwards starting with Wolfenstein 2 on switch, and it's a great port, and then I went backwards and played the other games on Xbox 360

It's an older game, so it runs perfectly fine on Switch. I'm stubborn and think all FPS games should be played with mouse and keyboard, but if you aren't like that, it's not a bad introduction. I preferred the New Order though. 2 got a too goofy and sci-fi. You had a bit of that in the first game, but the first was more traditional. You got some fantastic voice acting and moments in the first game.
