There is no rhyme or reason as to why my AA can't lock onto choppers that are hovering 60ft away from with clear sight, I understand if a chopper is miles away but the fact I can't even lock onto a stationary chopper just hovering capturing points is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke.

It's probably hard to find the right balance to please all players i recon. When flying heli you often only got a few seconds to find a target and attack before getting locked and missile launched. Its quite stressful even now to fly them. Most times going low is the only way to get anything done.
I would rather take away the rockets from Little Bird for example. Its too strong with them and i like flying heli. The gatling-guns are enough for it to still be dangerous and it would require a bit more skill to kill with.
The transport helis are already pretty vulnerable so idk. I like when teams use them to the fullest.
But yeah being that close mayby you should be able to fire.

They already are able to easily LoS rockets coming at them. The elevation restriction is un-needed and just stupid.

The situation you're describing seems like it would be perfectly countered by the MBT or RPG-7. Alternatively, a recon using their laser designator. Lock on AA missiles should be able to do everything, do I understand that correctly?

Mayby they could lower it so you really need to be hugging the ground with the chopper.
Then it would still be usefull to be able to fly really low and still make it fun to fly.

Helicopters, and especially the LB, will always get away with cheap gameplay but if the developers wanted a quick solution then just add ~50% on the time it takes to get a lock and be done with it.
