A good heli pilot ruins the game for quite literally everyone. Quit catering to the 1% at the expense of the 99%.

or ask the jet mfers to actually intercept. Or hop on the jet yourself. The only way to piss off heli pilots tbh

the only thing they need to do to fix this, is make the countermeasure cooldown twice as long. A lot of pilots fly high, make a run, countermeasure, go below radar, wait for cooldown, rinse repeat.

Hey, folks.
There are a few different areas being discussed here, but they all come back to the same goal: making vehicle fights feel rewarding for both pilots and the players trying to counter them. 👈
Some of you feel below radar is the main issue, while others think the bigger factor is how counters like jets, SOFLAM, or countermeasure timing fit into that interaction.
For those of you who spend time on both sides, what feels like the biggest factor during those engagements? Is it below radar itself, the availability of counters, or how often helicopters can reset and make another pass?

Countermeasures against Helicopters are a joke. It should not require a full squad dedicating all their attention on one helicopter to bring it down. It should only take one or two players with an Igla to bring it down. It doesn't make sense that helicopters can spam their own counter measures non stop that completely negate all effort from players trying to kill them on the ground.
At this point, players have to rely on RPG's, you know, the weapons meant for TANKS to hopefully snipe helicopters out of the sky since lock on missile launchers are so laughably useless and perform poorly in their only role in the game. And even then the helicopters can take a whole hit of from an RPG which again shows how overpowered Helicopters are health wise on top of their other many overpwoered characteristics.
All my Conquest matches are dominated by these Helicopter pilots going 70-1 every game and it's absurd that you devs do absolutely nothing about it. On the newest map especially where it's more open. I die more times to helicopter overpowered strafing than anything else hands down. You guys need to nerf helicopters badly.
All Helicopters need a nerf to weapon damage, the rate they can spam their counter measures, and respawn timers. The transport chopper needs a nerf to it's side mini guns especially.
Of all the Battlefield games I have ever played, the overpowered Helicopter superiority is the absolute worst I have ever seen. There's a reason why there are so many players begging for you devs to nerf the absurdly overpowered helicopters.

Below radar is a joke. I can understand for the IGLA since it is radar guided. That being said, the stinger is HEAT SEEKING, using IR/UV to track its target. So once its fired and they "go below radar" that should not matter one ounce. It locks onto the heat source.

Below radar either needs to be removed, or IGLAs need to be un-flareable.

It's a mix of both below radar and countermeasures rendering even a half decent pilot immune to most dedicated anti air weapons, rendering them useless. The countermeasure cooldown needs to be increased and the altitude to be below radar needs to be decreased in order to prevent them from being pretty much immune to AA missiles.
Engineers already have to make a trade-off between fighting tanks and aircraft, but if they choose to counter aircraft they get nothing for their trade-off, instead having to resort to RPGs and AT4s.

Nah they can flare it since the IGLA relies on radar and IR. Flares putting out a heat source with minor radar disruption and the IR locking onto the stronger source. Making it have a chance to hit would be the better option. So it would be balanced.

Why removed? What would be the trade-off if IGLAs were un-flareable and Below Radar stayed in?

Maybe make IGLAs un-flareable and Stingers able to lock on targets Below Radar? Make the choice of launcher actually mean something.

As someone who plays aircrafts, except the small helicopters (I suck with it, and it's too fast for my liking), getting rid of below radar would practically remove aircrafts from the game.
Flare time could be slightly increased without destroying them, or passive resupply could be removed for flares in exchange for lower flare cooldown and higher flare count. This would reward smart flare use and force helicopters to take breaks if they over-commit. Practically this would give breathing room even against heli players that go 100-10 on the leaderboard.
I mostly play infantry, and people very consistently shoot down aircrafts that are painted. Pilots know this, since if I start painting dominant pilots in a match, I will get focused down. It does usually take a minute for people to notice that someone is painting, but as soon as that happens, aircrafts go down. Also a single engineer can often kill helicopters if they are painted.
