Well we all know many people waited this season just to play on VSSM and many people was dissapointed in this weapon.
Whats the problem?
VSSM IS a DMR and as DMR this weapon ABSOLUTE ASS. It has: sub machine dmg range and sub sound ammo only.
As DMR (again weapon is considered as DMR) weapon might be TOP 1 WORST WEAPON in the game.
Weapon as DMR dont reward you for hitting enemy on long range (which is VERY HARD cuz weapon has 300 m/s bullet speed), most likely u will do +-14 dmg. And at close range u will be killed by literaly any other weapon in the game (exept sniper rifles) because of awful fire rate and quick dmg lose on distance.
And now lets get to auto version of the weapon.
Automatic version of VSSM is INSANE. Unlike its DMR version weapon shows itself if not the best weapon but defenetly as S tier.
It has low recoil, good hip fire, good precision, good mobility, good headshot multi.
So what i want to say about why this sucks.
VSSM i think should be hybrid weapon that could be good at long range and at the close ranges as well but bf6 devs decided to put weapon into DMR, make DMR version of weapon TOP 1 useless gun in game and put in it 1 attachment that makes weapon glow up from FFF tier to #1 weapon in game.
This is horrible u DICE could add VERY interesting weapon but ended up with adding sub machine gun in DMR category.

Totally agree. What an awful feeling gun. I just now unlocked the full auto kit, and it's way better now, I'm hitting shots and getting kills that I don't think I should have. I don't understand this design at all..

.... the real issue is the bullet tracer, if you notice DMR in BF6 has bullet tracer unlike previous title and DMR has to shoot multiple times so people will just find your location easily.

U never will kill someone from 50+ meters unless they stand on one place. Weapon has awful bullet speed so u have to predict a lot, and does awful dmg after 25 meters(less than 20).
Like we have other DMR (forgot name) that does same dmg and better than VSSM in being DMR in everything.
VSSM just SMG in DMR category.

I just got finished fully ranking it up and I think I dropped my KD by 2 while doing so.
I had next to no success with the weapon at ranges beyond 30 meters, and scant success beyond 20. The only good use I managed to get out of it was hip firing in close quarters, by using it like I do my sidearms.

I mostly agree with you cept you’re saying it has LOW recoil in auto mode LOL? Have you actually used the weapon it has insane recoil.

I got level 3 and get 10x Zoom. I thk great i get more Kills if i can snipe and then i see 303 m/s Bulletspeed!

Lol.... Bullet fly like a potatoe to the 150m Target and hit of course nothing. I hit at last a Bot that not move without kill and leave Map.

Its a game not real life. Most people here dont give a ♥♥♥♥ about weapons being realistic or not, only what matters is how weapon plays and does it its job or not.
As of right now VSSM as DMR should do DMR job but weapon is absolutly terrible even at mid ranges.

I think you missed the part where he stated a VSS which is what this gun is. Is a DMR, not a sub machine gun.

If u use DMR version of VSSM u wont be able to kill anyone in this ranges unless u are behind them or they have insane skill issue.
If u talking about automatic version then ofc, but i already stated it in my post.
I want VSSM be viable as close and mid(may be even long) range weapon like in other battlefields.
As of right now this is just SMG in DMR category, u have 0 reasons to run this weapon as DMR.

Ok, I'm not gun nut so I just expected DMR's to be... you know, consistent in the way they operate if they are under that category. Not the details, but the general feel. However, I did not know what DMR actually refers to in the real world.
Here's the definition I came across:
"A designated marksman rifle (DMR) is a high-precision, semi-automatic rifle used by infantry squads to engage targets at
medium-to-extended ranges
(typically 300 to 600+ meters), bridging the gap between standard service rifles and dedicated sniper systems."

VSSM does not do that. Like... y'all know if you're here.
Apparently it is a real gun, and it is labelled a DMR, but I highly doubt BF6 replicated the actual gun's performance here. It sure as hell doesn't operate as a DMR.

Don't believe what's written. DICE themselves don't know in which section to place VSS, it was even in SMGs, which is fundamentally wrong, because it has rifle rounds. And also it should be automatic like irl.
