A lot has been lost in the battlefield community throughout the time of this games existence. Every new iteration has its positives and negatives, but I find that in BF6 especially the support role is lacking meaning.
Not enough people play support due to the meta currently favoring anti-vehicle play, and those that do play support often fail at the primary role of support, giving supplies and reviving people. There needs to be a major incentive change in BF6 to encourage more supply giving and reviving when playing this role. More points, revive tracking on the scoreboard, bonuses, etc.
Having just played both WarDogs betas its clear BF6 has failed in the support role and failed at building the community needed to allow people to want to revive and support players in game. The incentive in WarDogs is just monetary bonuses and since the lives matter more people wait. I get its a slower game, but the incentive does work for people.
BF6 needs a support rework amongst other things, the game is so far off course in the teamplay aspect and support lacking proper metrics and better incentives to encourage teamplay show that.
