It is simply fun to just hop on conquest or breakthrough with a friend or two and have fun, the atmosphere is great destroyable environment is there although it is done better in most BF Games. Then there is Portal, which you can actually host with any rules you want. I play Jungle maps with BC2 US vs BF3 RU, desert maps with BF3 and the rest with BC2 factions.

Not sure. I only played cross play with friends from Xbox Series X to PC. But I think that certain custom games don't work when you cross play from last gen to current gen/Desktop. Also even on current gen you get max 64 bots most, if you host alone, if you host with two people then you get 128 bots. You can only get 64+ bots on your PC on a solo server but your PC gotta be Beefy.

Facts

Playing co-op with a friend brings back all of those childhood memories egging each other on and laughing when you hit a skill shot or skill chain or just get dragged in an incredible way.

Cross play lets your friends play together no matter the platform.

I really wish local co-op was in more games.

It used to be standard and now it's a rarity.

It's solid but it doesn't beat 1942/ 2 & the OG vietnam IMO because of all the maps you had & the sandbox feel of them

Older games used to have co op as well. Some of my fondest memories battlefield / gaming is tweaking battlefield 2142 to have 82 bots with a group of 12 mates defending the living hell out of Cerebere Landing, fall of Berlin, suez canal, Minsk, vurdun and this was with full voice comms running on our own LAN network!

I still feel pain that there wasn't a 2142 map, weapons and titan dlc for 2042.

Instead of battlefield 6 having casual breakthrough I wish it had Solo/Co-op some people just want to have fun and not have to tryhard in the game just to win gunfights that's what I have to do in order to win more and I get sick of it this isn't a tournament this is just the regular matchmaking.

Definitely is. A Solo Coop mode was much more in line with what Battlefield represents. A true Singleplayer campaign for BF1 would have been using the Operations as a base for it. But we got a decent but not too great Singleplayer campaign.

2042 was the first Battlefield game without a campaign. How can you say thats more "in-line" with Battlefield? Lol that statement is just proveably and quantifiably wrong. Thats like justifying Black Ops 4 not having a campaign by saing its more in line with CoDs identity. Its just wrong.

Back in the early days of Battlefield, like BF1942 or Battlefield Bad Company and Bad Company 2, not everybody had access to internet or online play like they do now, and they were introduced to the franchise by playing the campaigns. The single player campaign immerses you into the world and serves as an onboarding experience into the multiplayer, and BF1 did a fucking amazing job at that.

Tell me BF2042 was your first Battlefield game without telling me BF2042 was your first Battlefield game.
