Firing your weapon whilst/during jumping should make hitting your enemy an absolute lottery.
At the moment, doing this is a mechanic that is rewarded in CQB and if you're not adding it to your movement set then you're just making the game harder on yourself.
It should be an act of utter desperation, and doing it should make your weapon have spread as big as your FoV. Instead, it's the go-to mechanic to enhance your chance of winning the fight. Hip fire or ADS, I don't care - it needs gutted.
We've already got firing whilst sliding - is that not enough?
And, yes, I do it myself - but only because of what I've said above. Why round the corner with hip fire or ADS on your feet when I know that jumping will maintain my accuracy well enough in CQB whilst also making me incredibly difficult to hit in comparison?
It's gotten to the point where good players are jumping past each other in attempt to win the fight.

Don't see the issue here. Battlefield is not a milsim and all sorts of movement mechanics existed in every title.
Being able to execute them well makes you a better player overall.

It's not a mil-sim, no. However, I just find how reliable the mechanic is to be pure cringe. Let people fire whilst jumping if they want, but I don't think it should provide the advantages it does in CQB. Why should you lose a gun fight to someone who slide-jumps 10 m in front of you while you're planted ADS?
I just don't think it belongs in a battlefield game.
As said, I do it myself - but only because it's just the done thing and you're helping your enemy if you don't.

If everyone can do exactly that, I see no reason for it to be nerfed/removed. Only people with knowledge and ability can benefit from that, meaning people have to learn the trick to perform well. Isn't that a part of learning curve?

There's nothing wrong with jump spamming/shooting from a balance perspective, it's not some super secret tech or something that takes crazy skill to pull off - IMO it's an issue of ruining immersion. BF has never been a milsim, sure, but it's historically been one of the more grounded (in reality) FPS games, a sort of bridge between CoD and Arma. It certainly skews more towards CoD, don't get me wrong, but I hate to see gunfights devolve into something that looks more like Fortnite than a shooter that takes itself somewhat seriously.

Grounded surely. Yet, like I mentioned before all sorts of movement mechanics existed in all previous games. Remember dolphin diving from bf2? Jump peaking corners from bf3/4? Even sliding exists since bf1.
The series might not be as casual as cod, yet it is far from being arma or similar to that, therefore such mechanics can exist and honestly they are welcome to stay.

It looks stupid as hell in any type of game where you have soldiers carrying what could be up to 60 pounds in gear. This isn't quake or Unreal tournament. Jump shotting while happening a lot has to make sense from a gameplay perspective and a stamina perspective.
After the first jump, if you start spamming it you should lose all of your momentum immediately while on the second jump, having it where either you can't fire off leaving the ground immediately (like bf4) or it causes you to have max spread value no matter the attachments would be a good start. I say this as someone who's been doing this to people since CS 1.6, the initial jump to surprise someone is fine, it's the current combination of jump-jump-slide-jump-slide with the desynced animations/networking conditions that makes it goofy and needs to go.
BFV did it pretty well, the jump height was so low that jumping around corners on someone rarely worked.
Edit: I forgot to add, currently the slide and jump combination causes some weird issue with the sound, sometimes not even playing them at all so you just end up getting surprised or surprising someone who suddenly goes deaf. Jumping or landing should make a very very large audio cue, while spamming it should progressively make it louder. If you want to have it in the game there should be a risk to commiting such an easy combination jumping and sliding. Also sliding off a jump is fine, jumping off of a slide is ankle breaking.

As soon as you start coming up with arguments about real life soldiers, your opinion makes less and less sense, simply because this is NOT a milsim and will never become one, therefore anything related to IRL stuff can't be applied here. I am sorry, it is what it is.

Then why do the characters all have military apparel? Might as well make everyone look like the Strogg and soldiers from Quake Wars with jump jets. No one gives a ♥♥♥♥ if it's not a milsim, the idea around battlefield was it was the middle ground of the gameplay of COD and types of games like Squad.
Who said anything about milsim? Any soldiers in these types of games jumping and sliding around at mach 5 always looks stupid, and battlefield used to be known for immersion. You know what's not immersive? A player zouzou hopping through the map. Realism has nothing to do with it, it's just common sense that humans cannot do that without either serious injury or infinite stamina.
The main issue with this type of gameplay is that is reduces risk but gives plenty of reward. There's no reason not to do it, it's super easy and effective against other players. For every huge positive when it comes to movement in these style of games, there needs to be a downside. There's was a reason vaulting and shooting used to not work, but now you basically can hipfire as you fly over walls, probably because the speed of the game requires it at this current time.

Precisely why BF1 is the best game to go back to because you can't shoot while sliding or jumping so sweats can't abuse it, and makes for a much more level playing field.

It definitely seems like you do not want or simply can't comprehend this sort of discussion and keep coming with "it is unrealistic" type of arguments and nothing else. While completely ignoring lots of other unrealistic elements of this series, because those do not bother you.
I have no will to continue the discussion, simply because talking to a brick wall isn't productive and a waste of time.
But I just want to remind once again that Battlefiled has never been anything, but a casual series with military themes. If you are unable to use all available machianics this game provides while other players can and do that often, it is just a skill issue and has nothing to do with stuff you say.
Maybe it is time to accept that and move on?
Have a good one.

I accept your concession, as clearly you can't understand english with all this bait. If there's no basis in reality then why does it matter that they are using modern day weaponry and some outfits when they could have went full sci-fi? Your own argument collapses on itself because you refuse to accept that while it's a video game, immersion does matter, and when you have actions carried out by humans in a game like this that make no logical sense, it's immersion breaking. "muh realism" doesn't apply here.
I'm also speaking strikly from a gameplay perspective as I've already given examples as to why it's bad that go far beyond the idea of realism. Too bad you didn't put in enough effort to use your head to understand that. Saying nonsense like skill issue is why people get bored of these games and move on, because a few dedicated autists start abusing funky/broken mechanics and make the game a slog to play. Just because you think it should "stay as is" doesn't mean it will, as they've already tweaked the gameplay multiple times already. Clearly they are trying to mold the game a certain way, and your idea of how it should be isn't that. Nice try though.

I just don't find the mechanic enjoyable. I find it silly and frustrating, despite the fact I do it myself. The fact everyone can do it and it's no secret is of no consolation. It almost feels like a bit of an exploit to me. I feel like it's never worth not doing it.
I agree that it's immersion-breaking. Battlefield doesn't need to be a mil-sim in order for that to be the case. I feel like the game is marketed as being somewhat gritty, punchy, and somewhat grounded in reality, albeit not being a realistic shooter.
I do remember dolphin diving in BF2, and I'm pretty sure they eventually patched it by inserting a delay before you could fire (not to mention they learned from it in future battlefields).
Jump-shooting is the new dolphin diving. It's too effective, and I don't care that everyone can do it. I basically want the mechanic nerfed into the ground. So that it's not the go-to play in 9/10 CQB fights that involve cover.

i remember when dolphin diving was a huge thing back in BF2, and they flat out made is so when you jump you cant fire your weapon at all. and it really improved the game play.
